Student Counselling Service
WelTec, in collaboration with Vitae, provides all students and staff with access to individual counselling services and trauma support. As a WelTec student (or staff member), you can access Vitae’s team of independent counsellors and psychologists, who are based throughout New Zealand
The counselling service is totally confidential. For identification purposes only, you will need to provide your WelTec ID number and the name of the programme you are enrolled in. Anything you discuss with your counsellor is confidential; no one else receives any details about your discussions without your permission.
It will cost you nothing to access up to three counselling sessions. Please note, if you cancel an appointment without giving 24 hours’ notice, you may be charged 50% of the normal counselling fee.
No Problem Too Big or Too Small
Vitae’s team of counsellors can help with a huge range of issues, no matter how big or small, and these may include:
- Personal or study stress
- Relationship problems
- Conflict situations
- Personal Trauma
- And much more besides…
How Do I Arrange To See A Counsellor?
Call the 7 day, 24 hour free-phone on 0508 664 981
Or complete this online self-referral form
Or, if you feel more comfortable doing so, have a chat with your tutor, mentor, or learning support tutor, as they can help you access Vitae’s services too.
Depending on the nature of the issue, the counsellor’s schedule and your availability, you should be able to make an appointment within 2-3 working days. Urgent appointments can also be made.
If you are unable to keep an appointment you must give at least 24 hours’ notice of cancellation. If you do not, then a cancellation fee will be charged to you personally. Your counselling entitlement may also be reduced.
