How Does The Student Executive Committee Election Work?
Appointment of President:
The President may hold office for up to two consecutive years. No person may be appointed to the position of President if they have been appointed to the position twice before. A person who has held the position of President before may only apply for the position a second time if more than a year has elapsed since that person last held office as President. How to be Apply for Presidency:
Be a full-time student in at least one of the two years prior to application and have held office on the Council for at least one term previously.
Election of Vice-President and Treasurer Positions:
The Vice-President and Treasurers positions will be filled by those nominated and put forward for approval at the Annual General Meeting. To be eligible for nomination to these positions a member must have served at least one year on the Council previously and be a full time member of the association in the relevant year.
Election of the Six Council Officers:
The council member's positions will be filled by those nominated and put forward for approval at the Annual General Meeting. To be eligible for nomination to the Council as a Council Member, a member must be enrolled in a WelTec Course for duration of at least one year and be a financial member of the association where he or she has paid the full membership fee in the relevant year.
How to Vote:
You need to attend the Annual/Special General Meeting of WelTec Student Association. Notice of date will be posted on all campus notice boards and on the Website. You will be asked to sign an attendance register at the meeting showing your student ID. If only one person stands for a position the returning officer duly appoints that person to the position.
