Gain an introduction to the makeup artistry industry. You will develop the skills and knowledge required to gain employment as a Makeup Artistry Consultant in pharmacies, cosmetic counters, makeup houses and television, or to perform editorial and photographic makeup and hairstyling.

Entry requirements
To enter into this programme you will need a minimum of 8 credits from NCEA Level 1 in literacy (reading and writing) and a minimum of 8 Level 1 credits in numeracy (maths).
If you are 20 or older at the time you start your studies, you may apply to WelTec under special admission criteria.
If English is your second language, a minimum IELTS score of 5.5 (with no less than 5.0 in reading and writing) or equivalent is required.
Where will it take me?
Opportunities exist to work as a freelance make-up artist, cosmetic counter representative or for film, TV, cosmetic companies, department stores, or as a makeup artist working in film and television.
