The Counselling and Alcohol & Drug Studies programmes are supported by agencies and professionals in communities throughout New Zealand. Our students are supervised and assisted by competent staff in agencies and members of professional associations. We consult professional bodies, managers, practitioners and advisors and many of these colleagues serve on our advisory committees, focus groups and selection or assessment panels. We appreciate the partnerships that support us.

Our staff are available to:

  • Consult with agency and organisation staff
  • Assist with planning for the professional development of employed staff and volunteers
  • Address client issues that may need research or solutions
  • Increase or refresh the knowledge base for staff ensuring that it is applied knowledge for specific practice situations
  • Consult with private practitioners to discuss their planning and training requirements
  • Partner with professionals in research projects, course design and client focused projects
  • Partner with professionals and agencies to plan seminars or courses
  • Discuss feedback regarding student placements, supervision, design and client focus
  • Discuss the links between theory and professional practice
