Specifically designed for those wanting to learn a skill in bricklaying and blocklaying, this programme incorporates the first half of the full-year Certificate in Brick and Blocklaying, Tiling and Paving (Level 3). In our purpose-built workshops you will learn how to design and draw bricklaying plans, consult with clients and work on a range of practical projects.

Entry requirements
To enter this programme you will need to achieve both literacy and numeracy requirements for NCEA Level 1 with a minimum of 8 credits.

If English is your second language, a minimum IELTS score of 5.5 or equivalent is required, with no less than 5.0 in reading and writing.

If you are 20 years of age or older at the time you start your studies, you are entitled to special admission to WelTec.

Where will it take me?
Career opportunities include an apprenticeship or employment within the bricklaying and tiling industries, leading to master tradesperson or self-employed contractor.
