Designed with Marketing professionals in mind. The Diploma in Marketing is an eight-course programme designed for students with work experience who want a qualification in marketing in order to enhance their career or employment prospects, and for students setting their sights on a career in marketing. The programme focuses on the study of Marketing and communication. You can select optional courses in other areas to compliment your studies.

The programme consists of four compulsory courses, and four optional courses (at least one optional course must be at the 600 level).

There are four compulsory courses:

Students must select four optional courses from the list below (one of which must be at level 6). 

Entry requirements
Students less than 20 years old must have:
• A minimum of 14 numeracy credits at level one or higher in Mathematics or
Pangarau on the National Qualifications Framework
• Fifty credits at level two or above with at least 12 credits in each of
three subjects including a minimum of 8 literacy credits at level
two or higher in English or te reo Maori; 4 credits must be in reading
and 4 credits must be in writing.
• Or equivalent to both the above.

If English is not your first language, you must also have an IELTS score of 6.0 (academic) or TOEFL score of 550.

If you do not meet the requirements specified, Special Entry may be granted where WelTec is satisfied that you are capable of undertaking this course of study. 

Cross crediting
Cross-crediting of courses towards a business degree is available at New Zealand universities and polytechnics. 

Where will it take me?
This programme can be used to gain entry into the second year of business degrees at many NZ Universities.
