WelTec has several zero fee programmes designed specifically for students who are still at secondary school, or have just left. Entry to these programmes is limited so apply today to secure your spot.

• Wellington Trades Academy
  Students enrolled in the academy study full-time and gain credits for both NCEA level 2 and a chosen area of the trades. You also have the opportunity to retain your links with your secondary school and the year’s timetable is based on secondary school terms and hours. The academy is a supportive tertiary learning environment which is specifically designed to provide a bridge from secondary studies.
   
• STAR (Secondary Tertiary Alignment Resource)
  If you’re still at school you can attend WelTec part-time as part of the STAR programme. You’ll gain an introduction to a trade area and be able to see if it’s really for you.
   
• Youth Guarantees
  If you’re 16-17 and ready to move beyond school this is a great opportunity to study and gain practical skills. Youth Guarantee is an exciting initiative which offers you the chance to study free for one year in a range of hands-on practical programmes.
