STAR Programmes
STAR (Secondary Tertiary Alignment Resource) is a government funded programme introducing senior college students to tertiary education, assisting them in their choice of vocation.
WelTec is the largest provider of STAR programmes and courses in the greater Wellington Region. WelTec has a strong focus on learning in trades and vocational areas.
These programmes and courses ease the transition between secondary school to further education and training at tertiary level.
A number of our STAR programmes offer credits at Level 1 to 4 on the National Qualifications Framework. These credits can be used towards an NZQA National Certificate or towards the National Certificate in Educational Achievement.
NB. Only secondary students are eligible for STAR.
