Christchurch Employers Come to Town

A large group of employers from the Canterbury region are visiting Wellington tomorrow to recruit staff for the rebuild of Christchurch. 

Graduates from WelTec and Whitireia’s trades training programmes and their Pasifika Trades Scholarship programme will have the opportunity to meet with and be interviewed by major Christchurch employers such as Downers, Fletchers, Fulton Hogan, City Care, Mainzeal, Hawkins, Arrow, McConnell Dowell, their subsidiaries, and preferred contractors and subcontractors. 

The Christchurch employers will be available to interview potential employees for jobs in Christchurch to help with the rebuild effort post the 2010 and 2011 earthquakes.  Also in attendance will be the SCIRT For Real recruitment bus.  SCIRT is managing the delivery of the multi billion dollar Christchurch horizontal rebuild.

2.00 – 4.30pm Everyone welcome who is interested in meeting these employers from Christchurch

Information about the “For Real” bus

The specially kitted out “For Real” bus is used to promote the SCIRT recruitment and training initiative. It visits A&P Shows, malls, schools, major community events and specific events created for the purpose of making people aware of the opportunity. The bus has a bank of monitors which deliver a multi-media introduction to the SCIRT programme and the opportunities presented by the horizontal rebuild programme for Christchurch. http://strongerchristchurch.govt.nz/about/structure
